Covenant Hospice is happy to support those who are grieving the lose of a loved one through Katerpillar Kids Camp, Grief Support Groups and our Speakers Bureau.
What is Grief?
Greif is the natural reaction to loss. This loss can be from many different things including:
- Loss of a loved one through death
- A divorce
- Change in job
- A move
- And so much more.
Grief is a journey that keeps moving. Understanding that grief work takes time and process, the hospice team extends our staff to families of our hospice patients for 13 months following the death of the patient. During this time period families can expect mailings and phone calls from our trained staff to help during this difficult time. The families that we serve along with the rest of East TN who are experiencing grief from the loss of a loved one are welcome to use Katerpillar Kids Camp, The Speakers Bureau or our Grief Support Groups.
Katerpillar Kids Camp is a special weekend day camp for children grades 1-12 who are grieving the death of a loved one. Through activities, group discussions, and individual counseling, the children are able to express their feelings of loss in a safe and understanding environment. The annual camp is a free community service provided by Covenant Hospice. For more information, please contact our Katerpillar Kids camp director at (865) 374-0864.
