Katerpillar Kids – Free Grief Camps

Katerpillar Kids Camp

2020 Camps Postponed

Due to COVID-19 and in order to best protect the health and safety of our campers and volunteers, we have made the difficult decision to postpone all Katerpillar Kids Camp activities until 2021. Please check back for updates in the coming months.

The camp provides a safe place where campers share similar experiences. Trained camp volunteer counselors provide information and guidance as they listen with open minds, hearts, and ears to each camper. Most children who attend camp come to the realization that they are not alone and others who can share their pain…others who are close in age, thought, and feeling.

While camp has a therapeutic aspect, campers and volunteers also have a lot of fun! Camp Wesley Woods staff lead us on many of our fun adventures. Depending on the age of the camper, some activities include:

  • Hiking
  • Canoeing
  • Crafts
  • Puppet Show
  • Music
  • High Ropes Courses
  • Mane Support
  • Fun camp games

Camp is a great way for grieving children to see hope at the end of what is sometimes a very dark tunnel.

The camp is a free community service provided by Covenant Hospice and sponsored by Variety – The Children’s Charity.
